                                                 -About the Chef-       

Richard has been in the food and beverage industry for 42 years.  He spent his formative years in New Orleans, the birthplace of his Father.  His first start in a bakery was in Dayton, Ohio, while attending high school.  Afterword, he honed his pastry skills while working at several renowned restaurants in Miami and New Orleans. 

Returning to the city of his youth, he reconnected with the many culinary influences in his life; and also studied Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management at the University of New Orleans.  In 2001 he moved to Southern California, where he and his bride lived for five years.  While in Southern California, he was given the opportunity to supervise the purchasing, distributing and accounting for all wine and spirits at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort & Spa.  In 2006 he and his wife relocated to Reno, Nevada; an area familiar to his Mother's family heritage since the mid 1800's.  

In Reno, in 2008, he started R & C's Pastry and Bread; and has proudly been serving local patrons and businesses.  He has also assisted in the opening of a Reno bakery, and a Reno restaurant, and has participated in farmer's markets all around Reno.  He participated in the Reno Street Food summer event, the food truck Friday event at Idlewild Park, Reno, in the summer of 2014; and participated in the Feed The Camel summer event in 2015. 

One of his passions is making others happy with his culinary creations; and like most people who have lived in New Orleans, his favorite motto is: "Let's all live to eat."
